Q) How much does it cost to register with alfaparts.co.uk, to buy and sell Alfa Romeo parts?

A) It's free to register! Sellers use credits to place advertisements, and we give you 500 free to get you started! Refer your friends via the website, and we will also give you an extra 200 credits for every friend that registers too!

Q) How can I find parts?

A) Simple! Either browse through a category (E.G Alfa 156) or just search for your part/s by item name, part number and/or location. Whenever you click on any item for sale to view it's details, you will also see an information panel about the seller, including their Town etc. Their advert text will tell you if it is a trade or private sale and whether the seller will post the item.

If you can't find what you are looking for, you can place a WANTED advert to see if anyone can help. WANTED ad's are completely FREE to place!

Q) When I want to sell something, what do I need to put in an advert?

A) When you fill out the advert form it should be very obvious what to put where, but the main things will be a TITLE ( E.G Alfa 156 Gearbox), a DESCRIPTION, the item PHOTO (optional), your LOCALITY (E.G Town and City), the ITEMS CONDITION, the ITEMS PRICE, whether you will POST the item or whether it is collect only, and the POSTAGE COST (if applicable).

Q) How do I add a photo to my advert?

A) Photos are optional, but really help a buyer decide if they are viewing the correct part. Take a picture of your item with a digital camera or camera mobile phone, transfer it to your computer (reduce if necessary to a file of no more than 50kb in size) , and then when placing your ad, browse your computer for the file, and upload it.

Q) If I list an item how many credits will it cost me?

A) When placing your ad you will see how many credits it costs to list, how many credits per day, and how many credits for ad enhancements, such as 'featured' and 'bold'. You finalise the sale with your buyer, and there are no further fees to pay, or credits to use when a sale is made.

Q) When I place an ad, will other users see my personal details?

A) The only details other users will see are: Your username, which can be any single word (within reason! without space or punctuation marks) your Town, City / County (helps buyers know where the item is) , and other items you are selling.

Q) Can I edit my ads, and delete them when an item is sold?

A)Yes, just log in to your account, click on 'my ads' and edit and delete ads as necessary. You will only be charged extra credits for any enhancements or days that you ad.

Q) How do a buyer and seller communicate and complete the sale?

A) Buyers should make initial contact via the website, and then may communicate any way they please, be it email, telephone etc. Payment method is entirely down to the seller. Cash on collection is probably the safest way to get paid, but if you are sending an item, an online payment sending service such as Paypal should ensure you have the funds before sending the item. If accepting cheques, allow the cheque to clear first, and discuss this with your buyer.

Buying and selling is entirely at the risk of the buyer and seller, and alfaparts.co.uk (as a classifieds ads site) cannot be held liable for any losses sustained as a result of placing an advertisement, or replying to one.

We strongly recommend that you exercise extreme caution before entering into any sale with anyone outside of the UK. Unfortunately in this day and age it is often a case of "buyer AND seller beware"!
